"We should have gone to Magic"

The new caravans have come out twice already, with many of the DFC now properly 'riverized' for the summer.
In November was the U.SI.C's. Many of us were there, as well as representatives from the KFC, and celebrity appearances by such heavyweights as Shane the reproducing McKay, and Clint the newly feminist. In true DFC style, we were there the most windy week of the month. Apart from some very courageous flights by a few who surprised the glider plane pilots, most only achieved a couple of days launching, followed unsatisfyingly close by a landing.
Good times were had all round however as the Omarama scenery and river worked it's own magic. Many nights were spent around the fire talking shite and listening to every version of 'Plastic Jesus' reverberating from Rodneys iBucket sound system.

From Christmas and over New Years, many of the gang returned to the river which Buddha had carefully guarded, and kept clear from any others mistakenly hoping to camp on our favourite bank. Good work Buddha, wouldn't have been the same otherwise!
Some weather Deja vu was experienced as the wind returned when we did. James AEROS Mckirdy was home from Australia for the holidays and was caught stroking and caressing his brother Andrews new MOYES Litespeed which he flew in the absence of his Combat. Upon asking James how awesome the glider was, provocateurs were met with a common James response; silence. View the evidence below.

We had a huge circle of people around the camp fire for New Years eve. Things really got wild when Tom pulled out his cashe of illegal sparklers before blowing minds with some 10 shot Roman candles. Despite the absence of the safety dwarf, the display went off without injury and even the local fire department left from their visit, satisfied and assured of our dedication to fire safety.
Not much flying was to be had but we did get the opportunity to fly the retro site of Big Buscot. Only a couple got away and landed back at camp while the rest of us bombed. The view was fantastic however and everyone including some beginners got off and had a nice fly down enjoying the scenery. For clarification purposes, the big Buscot range will continue to be called Buscot, while the smaller ridge previously known as Little Buscot will now be referred to as "Biscuit".
The river was warm and the dogs almost out numbered the people. Not long now till the classic and we can do it all again : )
