A lovely day to warm up for the summer. Steady lift to 5500 and off towards Omarama.

Flying in NSW with Ratty and James

Conrad has again been putting up members of the DFC as well as our new friend 'H' from Holland, before the start of the Gulgong Competition. We had three days flying in a row including 2 days at Dixon park gooning, top landing and soaring mansions and apartment buildings. We made it inland for one day to Brokeback. The launch was an exciting run of a rocky precipice and we caught a few thermals to go up  over the back and landed together. The talk of "brown snake territory" was good motivation to get off the launch!

Off to Dalby

There's a party mix of DFC pilots heading over to the dry country to do some serial hang gliding. We shall attempt to document their adventure here, and tell you the exciting details, like what they eat for breakfast. Not sure how reliable an internet source there will be but it'll arrive eventually!
Hey, maybe we'll even get the fancy twitter feed going again! (If anyone would like to donate an iphone to the dfc blog so they can actually use twitter, that would be appreciated)

Apologies

You know how when you haven't had any flying, you want to talk about hang gliding? And then when you continue to not have much flying, you tell the people who have been flying to spare you the agony and keep it to themselves? Weeell, unfortunately the authors of this blog have been experiencing that lately, hence the complete negligence to our 1 reader, who has now had to supply his own material.

So thanks Dennis for this video. It's not technically a Hang video but very cool and there's some of the Omarama camp fire and Magic. Yea NZ!
